Curiculum Vitae highlights of Tracy Piper
Tracy Piper is one of those special people. She is driven by an inexplicable need to share her experiences with others. She one day hopes to make some sort of machine that will do this for her, although for now she expresses herself through her art and performance work.

At the young age of four, Tracy was flung into the world of Gymnastics–learning summersaults and beam routines from the zany coaches of Head Over Heels In Emeryville, California. Eventually after many arduorus years of training, Tracy decided at age 9 to move into the wild world of Circus. Tracy joined a youth circus troupe, Splash Circus, where she perfected her juggling, tumbling and character work with annual performances at Julia Morgan Theatre in Berkeley, The Alice Arts Theatre in Oakland, California, as well as various venues around the Bay Area.

For the last four years, Tracy has concentrated on contortion as a specialty, relying on her various other skills to create a blend of performance unlike anything ever seen before. She has appeared in several productions, including "Fantoysmical Dreams" (Fall 2002) and "In the Magical Forest" (Fall 2003) with Splash Circus. She then followed Stephanie Abrams, her contortion coach, mentor, and then director of Splash, to the City Circus Troupe in San Francisco, California. There she performed in and created the artwork for "Adventures in Opolis"(Spring 2004) at their home base Acrosports, followed by "Calliope's Carousel"(Fall 2004) at Zeum in the Yerba Buena Gardens of San Francisco. Along with being a member with City Circus, Tracy has performed as a freelance performer at a variety of venues.

Along with being an amazing performer, Tracy is also an amazing teacher. She teaches her students (ages 3 to adult) all the things that she had learned so enthusiastically. Her love of teaching sprouts from her hope that the youth of today will not grow up to be mindless, artless, computer screen-staring drones. In the future she hopes to direct a troupe of her own, a troupe so spectacular that it changes circus itself and brings it in a new, wonderful direction.

Besides her many accomplishments in the performing world, Tracy is also an amazing artist–combining her many different styles and her passion to make others understand her world. Tracy has designed show posters for Splash Circus and City Circus as well as ads for Acrosports. She draws posters for her friends and designs her own line of clothing with the adorable characters of her sketches. Yet one of Tracy's biggest projects is creating a biography of her life through a giant comic about herself. Each page is a new thought or experience that she has had and when read all together one gets the magical feeling of knowing Tracy
